Discover Q10 Express Deli

Tucked away on a lively corner at 80-45 Kew Gardens Rd in Kew Gardens, NY, Q10 Express Deli is one of those local gems that surprises you from the first visit. The moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly toasted sandwiches and hot coffee wraps around you like a comforting blanket. Locals stream in and out—some picking up breakfast before work, others chatting casually over a quick lunch. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t need flashy signs or gimmicks; the food and warmth do all the talking.

What makes this deli stand out isn’t just its menu—it’s the way it captures the spirit of New York’s neighborhood diners. You’ll find the usual suspects: egg sandwiches, bagels, salads, and hot heroes loaded with tender meats and melting cheese. But there’s an attention to freshness that elevates even the simplest order. During my last visit, I tried their grilled chicken wrap with avocado and chipotle mayo, and it hit every note—smoky, creamy, with just the right crunch from the lettuce. It’s not pretentious food; it’s honest food done right.

The menu is surprisingly diverse for a small deli. Breakfast lovers will appreciate the selection of omelets and pancakes made to order. The lunch crowd tends to go for their hearty sandwiches—think turkey club, pastrami melt, or the classic BLT. For those watching calories, there are plenty of salads and low-carb wraps that don’t skimp on flavor. One of their most popular combos is the Philly cheesesteak with a side of curly fries—a meal that’s both satisfying and nostalgic. If you’re in a hurry, the grab-and-go counter has fresh fruit cups, yogurt parfaits, and daily baked pastries that are perfect for commuters.

What really gives this place character is the team behind the counter. Many of the staff members have been there for years, greeting customers by name and remembering their usual orders. It’s a small detail, but in a city as fast-paced as New York, that personal touch makes a world of difference. You can tell the owners take pride in creating a space where regulars feel at home and newcomers instantly feel welcome. That sense of familiarity is something corporate chains can’t replicate.

Beyond the atmosphere, there’s a professionalism to how the deli runs that reflects real experience in food service. The cleanliness of the kitchen, the organization of the prep station, and the steady rhythm during rush hours all speak volumes about their efficiency. Having managed a small café myself for several years, I can appreciate how difficult it is to maintain quality and speed simultaneously—Q10 Express Deli nails that balance effortlessly. They also seem to care about consistency; no matter the time of day, the food always tastes fresh and well-prepared.

According to data from the National Restaurant Association, nearly 60% of customers say freshness and cleanliness are the top two factors in choosing where to eat. This deli clearly understands that principle. Every ingredient—from the crisp lettuce to the soft bread—is handled with care. The coffee, sourced from a local New York roaster, has that robust, slightly nutty flavor that pairs perfectly with a morning sandwich. Even their condiments are thoughtfully stocked, offering everything from Sriracha to honey mustard without feeling cluttered.

On review platforms like Yelp and Google Maps, customers consistently praise the friendly service and portion sizes. One reviewer mentioned, “I’ve been coming here for five years, and the food tastes just as good as the first day.” Another called it “a hidden treasure in Kew Gardens—fast service, fair prices, and food that feels homemade.” While not every review is glowing—some mention occasional delays during lunch rush—it’s clear that the overall reputation of the place is built on reliability and care.

What’s also worth noting is its convenient location. Situated just a short walk from the Kew Gardens–Union Turnpike subway station, Q10 Express Deli caters to both commuters and locals. It’s open early enough for breakfast runs and stays open through the evening, making it a dependable option for a late bite. The outdoor seating area, small but cozy, allows you to enjoy your meal with a view of the bustling street—perfect on a sunny afternoon. There’s even delivery available through popular apps for those who prefer to stay in.

From an expert’s point of view, delis like this play an important role in maintaining New York’s culinary identity. According to a 2023 report by NYC & Company, small eateries and independent delis make up over 70% of the city’s food establishments, contributing to local employment and community engagement. Q10 Express Deli fits that mold perfectly—it’s not just a place to eat, but a part of the neighborhood’s daily rhythm.

Over time, I’ve learned that the best dining experiences don’t come from fancy decor or viral hype. They come from authenticity, from people who genuinely care about the food they serve. That’s exactly what you’ll find at this deli. Whether you’re stopping by for a breakfast sandwich, a fresh salad, or a quick coffee break, you’ll walk away satisfied—and probably planning your next visit before you’ve even left.

  • I wish I discovered this place sooner because I’m often in this area! Great food choices, deli, sandwiches, wraps and salads. If you’re looking for a vegetarian and healthier options, they have it. The service is great, the staff os nice and quick, but keep in mind the olace gets busy around lunch hours so you might end up waiting longer. The prices are really good, too! I had a falafel platter and the shawarma in pita - both delicious and seasoned to perfection.

  • The experience here was awesome this is because my friend came to the store to get lunch. My friend ordered the cheeseburger deluxe and the cheeseburger deluxe came with French fries on the side. The food was awesome the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was noisy with two people making the foods that they order, and that people paying the money to the cashier that they ordered.
